With the attendance of no less than 175 individuals representing the Arab Society’s family—including members, companions, and guests—the Society held its annual Ramadan Iftar at the Tantur Hotel. This Iftar was distinguished by its excellent organization and simplicity.
Following the Iftar meal and the communal Maghrib prayer, the Society’s Director, Mr. Ihsan Edkidek, opened the Ramadan evening with a welcoming speech and words of gratitude to all those who contributed to and supported the event, especially the Society's members. Dr. Ahmad Fteihah, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, then delivered a speech in which he praised the remarkable and diverse attendance from across the Jerusalem community. He spoke about the importance of holding this annual Iftar, which brings together the entire Society's family alongside representatives of partner institutions and organizations. He also highlighted the various challenges the Society faces—many of which have been overcome—and emphasized ongoing efforts by the Board to address the remaining ones. Additionally, he shared the Society’s future vision, focused on promoting an inclusive and comprehensive approach across all institutions in Jerusalem. Engineer Haj Mustafa Abu Zahra, the Society’s Honorary President, also addressed the attendees, recalling the Society’s founding history and the key milestones along its journey. He called for continued support for the Society in all possible ways so that it remains a nurturing space for the disability sector in Jerusalem and can continue to face current challenges.
The evening concluded with a Q&A segment and the distribution of prizes to the winners, along with heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the Iftar, including Board members, the General Assembly, and the dedicated volunteers for their blessed efforts.
