Vocational training and rehabilitation are considered essential stages in the comprehensive rehabilitation process. The Arab Society implements vocational rehabilitation programs to change the community’s misconception toward vocational training, which is a valid and suitable alternative for those whose capabilities do not allow them to continue formal education.
Vocational training utilizes the energies and abilities of persons with disabilities according to their capacities and interests, ensuring a reasonable opportunity for suitable employment and an income that meets basic life needs. Furthermore, vocational training restores the self-confidence and self-esteem of persons with disabilities, significantly contributing to their integration and inclusion in their local communities.
Based on this approach, the Arab Society, in collaboration with its partners, organizes specialized workshops in areas that align with the interests and desires of persons with disabilities to acquire professional skills that lay the foundation for entering the local market.
The Association has also taken technological advancement into account, organizing workshops in computer skills, photography, and digital marketing. Special attention has been given to the capacities of women with disabilities through workshops in various handicrafts, including soap making, recycling, pastry making, flower arrangement, embroidery, wood painting, accessory making, indoor plants, and polymer clay.
These trainings and workshops have been supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Palestinian NGO Development Center (NDC), and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency – Morocco, during the years 2020 to 2024.
