Dr. Ahmad Fteiha Elected as Chairman of the Arab Association for Persons with Disabilities
Jerusalem – Under the supervision of the Union of Charitable Societies in Jerusalem, represented by its Director General Mr. Yousef Qrei, the Arab Association for Persons with Disabilities in Jerusalem held its regular General Assembly meeting on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Association’s headquarters. The meeting was chaired by Eng. Samer Nusseibeh, Chairman of the Board, who welcomed the members of the General Assembly, representatives of the Union of Charitable Societies, and Al-Nabulsi Auditing and Accounting Firm.
Following confirmation of a legal quorum, Dr. Ahmad Fteihah, the Association’s Secretary, presented the 2023 administrative report. The report highlighted various issues and accomplishments throughout the year, including partnerships with civil society organizations, projects implemented, a range of activities and events, and the challenges facing the Association due to the prevailing conditions in the Palestinian territories.
Ms. Nada Natsha, representing Al-Nabulsi Auditing and Accounting Firm, presented the 2023 audited financial report, outlining the balance sheet and the income and expenditure statement in comparison to 2022. She also noted key items where deficits or surpluses were recorded.
Following the discussion and approval of both the administrative and financial reports by the General Assembly, and the selection of Al-Nabulsi Auditing Firm for the next two years, Eng. Samer Nusseibeh submitted the resignation of the current Board of Directors.
After that, Mr. Yousef Qrei announced the names of the new Board members who were elected by acclamation: Dr. Ahmad Fteihah, Abdul Mu’in Hammami, Wael Tafaha, Ahmad Khalaf, Dr. Ahlam Sabah, Layali Atoun, Nihad Muna, Mohammad Jawdat Al-Shweiki, and Zainab Tijani, with Dr. Fteihah selected as Chairman, Abdul Mu’in Hammami as Vice Chairman, Mr. Wael Tafaha as Secretary, and Mr. Ahmad Khalaf as Treasurer during the meeting held immediately after the conclusion of the General Assembly meeting.
