Given the importance of laws that protect the rights of persons with disabilities in Jerusalem, the Arab Society for Persons with Disabilities implements a Legal Counseling and Assistance Program in cooperation with a number of local and international institutions working in this field.
The Arab Society began offering this service in collaboration with the Society of St. Yves in Jerusalem in 2019. In 2021, the service was enhanced and expanded in cooperation with the Palestinian NGO Development Center (NDC) through the implementation of a comprehensive program consisting of two parts: The first part included the organization of fourteen (14) legal sessions with various groups within the Society and with institutions and centers concerned with persons with disabilities in the city of Jerusalem. The second part focused on providing individual legal consultations, supervised by specialized lawyers in various fields relevant to the lives and needs of persons with disabilities.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Society has been implementing the Legal Counseling Program in collaboration with relevant international institutions on a weekly basis. This program provides persons with disabilities and residents of Jerusalem the opportunity to benefit from the services of a delegated lawyer specialized in various legal matters and issues related to Jerusalem.
